i am not quitting this comic, but i am quitting the level of quality.

i did the comic in Extremely Fancy Art Mode because i hoped to attract people who would help me with it, so i could maintain the quality at a fast pace alongside real life work.

unfortunately, no help has been forthcoming.

to this end i will be continuing the comic but in a drastically cut-down level of quality so that i can keep working on other things without actually leaving the entire story rotting on the vine.

the prologue will end at the current art level, but starting with chapter one the whole thing will be pared down.

so am I to understand that it would be like japanese styled manga?
You know, when they put ultra-high quality coloured prologue and then everything after that is done in B/W ?

I'm totally fine with whatever you do

Wait. You actually wanted help? I was always under the impression that you were just doing awesome super-high-quality artwork comic but being slow Dresden-Codak-style.

I'd offer to help, but I doubt i have the appropriate skillset or time to be able to do much...

i put an ad on EQD as i recall

eh. I don't read EqD much anymore.

You probably shoulda placed the ad into your journal and comics as well (where the readers/fans most likely to be willing to contribute would respond).

Whatcha need help with, anyhow? (Maybe I can do something to help? I doubt it as I have a very limited skillset and suck at traditional art and can only do vectoring and very little animation...)

oh i also put it in my journal.

i appreciate the offer but i do not use vectors at all in the making of the coming—the assistance was hopefully going to be a little more in-depth than that. like. inking all the characters, or… i don't know. drawing them. :I while i worked on the backgrounds etc. etc.

characters have never been my strong suit, see.

that said, i should probably use that as an opportunity to improve myself instead of making someone else pick up the slack where i'm weak.

Yeah. I didn't think I'd actually be of any help. lol

Sounds like a plan. You've been doing a really good job thus far, anyway, so I don't see why you would want to outsource your work.

Well this sucks. At least it's not canceled though!

Oh well, it was inevitable I guess, and I will always blame this trend of looking down any pony artist that works for free, because some fucking how this is an industry now...

well nobody ever actually asked for money so i don't know if that was an issue, but it is not unreasonable for artists to want to be paid for their work.
